Dr. Shu Ly Lim is a genetics researcher and
cellular nutrition consultant whose work focuses on translating advances in molecular genetics and nutritional science into practical strategies for improving human health. She collaborates with Apple King to provide evidence-based guidance to parents on nutrition and supplement choices that may support children’s brain development and overall well-being.
Dr. Lim obtained her PhD in Genetics from The University of Adelaide, Australia, where she received both the Postgraduate Achievement Award and the All-Round Postgraduate Achievement Award from the School of Molecular and Biomedical Science in recognition of her academic excellence. She subsequently completed postdoctoral research in cancer genetics, reproductive biology, and epigenetics at Monash University, Australia, and at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology under A*STAR, Singapore. Her research background includes work in molecular genetics, fertility biology, and gene regulation, with contributions to peer- reviewed scientific publications and international scientific conferences.
She is the Founder of OLAB Health Sciences Consultancy and a member of the Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM). Dr. Lim is currently involved in a Children ADHD and Nutrition Management Project, collaborating with UCSI University in Malaysia, Apple King students, and
international research partners to investigate the potential role of nutrition and micronutrients in supporting children with attention and developmental challenges.
Through her research, consultancy work, and public education initiatives, Dr. Lim aims to bridge advances in genetics, cellular nutrition, and preventive health, helping families better understand how dietary patterns, micronutrients, and evidence- based supplementation may contribute to children’s cognitive function, behavioural regulation, and long-term developmental health.
